Changing to 4WD in the original Jimny meant stopping
the car, shifting the transfer lever, and then getting
out to manually lock the free wheel hub. In NTN's auto
air hub, however, an air system control links the transfer
lever to the hub locking mechanism. This means that
the driver can automatically shift from 2WD to 4WD while
the car is in motion, eliminating the need to stop or
get out of the vehicle.
The NTN auto air hub can be adopted in most part time
4WD vehicles with wheel bearing outer ring rotation
