Internal snap ring pliers
Rubber mallet or hammer

NOTE: Appropriate eye protection should be
worn.
Step 1:
Remove idler from snowmobile per manufacturer's recommendations.
Step 2:
Using internal snap ring pliers, remove the idler's
snap ring.
Step 3:
Remove bearing from the idler and discard. Note:The
bearing can be removed by pressing on the inner ring
opposite to that of the idler's snap ring.
Step 4:
Ensure that the idler bore (i.e., bearing seat) is free
from rust deposits and other debris before inserting
the new NTN Formula Bearing.
Step 5:
Position the new bearing in the idler bore. The old
bearing is a useful mounting device to fully seat the
bearing into the idler.
If the second bearing becomes seated in the idler,
a blunt screw driver may be used to gently pry the inner
raceways apart and remove the guide bearing.
Step 6:
Once the bearing is fully seated so that the retainer
groove is visible in the idler, insert the snap ring
back into the idler.
Step 7:
Replace idler on the snowmobile per manufacturer's recommendation.
